My intention with this work, is to contribute to, and expand upon, a self care modality; that teaches sexual autonomy, and empowerment. A relationship with ones self, underlies all other relationships, I believe. Often we take our relationship with ourselves for granted, and don't even know what self care looks like. As a wellness coach, I facilitate and guide my clients to come to a greater understanding of themselves, to consciously begin, or continue a journey where incrementally there is more insight, and access to inner resources. Those inner resources are all deeply rooted in pleasure. Understanding our own unique inner pleasure landscape takes time, and practice. It also requires a sense of safety, and rightness. If we feel shame about exploring desires and thoughts, then we will leave them to affect us from the shadows. They wont go away, but manipulate us from our unconscious. Being unconscious is not pleasurable. Often we associate our unconscious with painful thoughts, and feelings; and the subconscious does a good job of buffering us from those things until we're ready to face them. And the reason that we do eventually want to face them, is because beneath that painful thought, and feeling, is a treasury of pleasure.
My purpose in this work, is to help people find empowerment through love and pleasure. I believe love means non judgment; it means accepting what IS, joyfully; that takes intention, determination and practice. It means being conscious, and not reactive. We choose love, we practice love, because it feels so much better to decide to see the good in all that is. It means letting go of judgment, and creating space for peace.
We are far more magnificent and powerful than we often allow ourselves to be. I love Marianne Williamsons famous quote about how playing small does not serve the world:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others”.
I have been on a self help journey for many years. It has been quite an adventure, and its far from over. As a person with Capricorn rising, apparently I have a lot of karma to burn. I believe that is by choice. I believe its about how much heavy lifting that my soul intended to do in this life; and I don't believe that the universe burdens us unconsentually. The only way forward is in taking responsibility for all of our experience. When we realize that intention, and perception creates our whole reality, we become powerful. From that place, facing our so called demons is thrilling. One can face the challenges, feel the fear, and do it anyway. Even when we do stumble and do what we think was a mess up, we can pick ourselves up quickly and carry on. We don't belabor it, unless we really want to wallow for a bit, as long as we're clear that we're choosing that. That becomes resilience and is a quality of self love and care.
I find tremendous excitement in reminding you of your magic; right here where you are, in your body. We are magic. The absolutely awe inspiring thing that we are is worth pondering. Having reverence for ones body and mind is a truly worthy and pleasurable practice. And if you're able to do it for your self, you will look with fresh eyes at every other human being on this planet. That's magic, to see with fresh eyes, to waken to the awareness of the ecstatic pleasure of breath, of presence, of heart blossoming compassion. You are magic, and I want to help you remember that, awaken to that, experience that. I want you to know how to find that door at the back of the wardrobe that leads to Narnia. My intention is to not only touch your body for your pleasure, but also to touch your soul, for all of us.
